Quest Bar Review!

Hi friends!

So recently, I've been hearing so much rave about these protein bars.

"They're so delicious!"

"20g of protein in one bar!"

"It's a clean bar!"

The quotes go on.

I did a little research on these bars because I was worried about how "clean" they really were.

And I was surprised when I read their labels that are posted on their website.

All the ingredients are well known to me which is always a good sign when reading your nutrition

labels.

Also, they weren't full of sugar and other preservatives like most protein bars you buy!

Also, they explain what each ingredient is on their website for those who are unfamiliar with them.

They have two lines, their original line and their natural line.

Both lines are sugar free, however their original line contains no sugar alcohols but is sweetened with

an artificial sweetener Sucralose.

And their natural line contains no artificial sweeteners but is sweetened with stevia and Erythritol.

So after reading countless reviews on these bars I caved and I decided to test these bad boys out!

I'm from Canada so it is a little bit more difficult to find these bars except for online. With that being

said, these bars are quite pricy, so the cost to ship these bars to Canada did not help.

Shipping wasn't crazy a lot, but having such a tight budget with school I don't think I'll be

buying these bars very often.

That doesn't mean I didn't love them.

It just means it will have to be an occasional splurge every few months.

I actually became very addicted to them and let me tell you that the 12 bars I purchased from

bodybuilding.com did not last long at all!

The total for 12 bars came to $40 Cdn (YIKES!) and they disappeared in one week :(

I didn't want to purchase a whole box of just one flavour because I didn't know how any of them tasted.

So I chose a variety of flavours to try out!

I hope my incite helps you decide on your first quest bar!

FLAVOURS:
Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Peanut Butter & Jelly, Lemon Cream Pie, Coconut Cashew, Cinnamon Roll, Apple Pie, Banana Nut Muffin

All the bars are quite chewy (which I love) but not overly chewy.

The original line is a little bit more dense and the natural line has a taffy-like texture.

Lemon Cream Pie (Natural Line): I was most excited for these. I almost bought a whole box before even trying them! I often purchase the lemon Luna bars and am in love with them because of their lemony tang! However these ones could have used a little bit more lemon. They were still good, but not as good as I was anticipating them to be. They were more like a lemon taffy. RATING: 7/10

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough (Original Line): I've heard many great reviews on this one which is the reason I purchased it. And it did not disappoint! It was so tasty! Heat it up for 10 seconds in the microwave and it tastes just like a warm chocolate chip cookie! (without all that fat and sugar of course) It is denser than the natural line (more chewy) which made me love it even more. RATING: 9/10

Peanut Butter & Jelly (Original Line): At first I wasn't going to purchase these. Many reviews that I read were more on the negative side. But i'm a sucker for PB&J and decided to purchase just one. OMG, I should have purchased more! I LOVED this one. Dense and tasted just like a peanut butter and jelly sandwich minus the bread and calories. A typical peanut butter jelly sandwich is around 350-400 calories whereas this bar is just 210 calories plus 20g of protein! I regret not purchasing more. RATING: 9.5/10

Coconut Cashew (Natural Line): I was also really stoked for these because I love coconut. They were very tasty and you could see the pieces of coconut in the bar! RATING: 8/10

Cinnamon Roll (Natural Line): Also heard a lot about this one! I bought two of these bars. When I first tried it, I wasn't a huge fan of the flavour. It has a lovely cinnamon taste but there was no "OMG" thought when I bit into it. However, when I ate the second one I decided to heat up in the microwave and it tasted so much better. It has a cinnamon and nutty flavour with pieces of almond. RATING: 8/10

Apple Pie (Original Line): Another delicious bar! Nice and dense with real apple pieces that you can see! My mouth waters just thinking about it! Tastes just like an apple pie minus the crust and this is coming from a girl who works at a bakery in the summer! Very tasty. RATING: 9.5/10

Banana Nut Muffin (Natural Line): If you're a fan of banana nut bread then you will love this flavour especially when heated up! There nice little pieces of walnut in the bar which give it a bit of a crunch and nutty flavour. RATING: 8/10

VERDICT: These bars are amazing! They look a little different than your average protein bar smothered in chocolate and filled with tons of sugar and preservatives, but they are definitely much tastier than any average protein bar out there.

Here is how I would rank them (1 being best tasting)
1. Peanut Butter & Jelly
2. Apple Pie
3. Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough
4. Cinnamon
5. Banana Nut
6. Coconut Cashew
7. Lemon Cream Pie

I'd definitely recommend these bars for anyone needing more protein in their diet, building muscle, trying to lose weight or just the average joe who needs a healthy pick me up snack in the afternoon :)

Give them a try if you have the chance!

I can't wait to try more flavours once I get some more spending cash but tuition and rent come first.

What's your favourite quest bar?

Have a great weekend!

    1. I had ordered these bars on bodybuilding. I find they have the best price with shipping and all :)
They are also really fast to ship (within a week)!
But I actually saw these bars at a Popeyes supplement store in Canada. They are a little more pricey though so I didn't purchase them.

And also thank you for your health advice, it's really good to know that other people in this community can reach out :)

I will check out the articles and hopefully they will help me
